Pain in the Neck  Finally Gone After 25 Years

After a car wreck in 1974, Vicki Spaan suffered from degenerative disc disease in her neck, leaving it very sensitive and vulnerable to more severe injuries. The neck injury left Spaan in constant discomfort for almost 25 years. Activities that were required of her on a daily basis such as writing and working at her desk had become difficult and painful.

“I would wake up in the middle of the night because the ache in my neck was so severe,” said Spaan. “There was just no comfortable position, which made even resting difficult.”

Spaan sought several different methods of treatment for her pain, including physical therapy, chiropractors and over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication. Spaan even purchased machines to use at home in order to relax her neck muscles. But the results she achieved were only temporary. Vicki thought her condition was just something she’d have to cope with for the rest of her life.

It was at that time that Laurence Altshuler, M.D. at the Balanced Healing Medcal Center recognized Vicki as a good candidate for new laser and infrasonic therapy.
